1: Sunday, June 18 – To London
Fly
from home cities to London.
Day 2: Monday, June 19 – London
Arrive to London Heathrow airport where you’ll be met by the
tour manager who will travel with you throughout the tour. You’ll transfer to the Guomon Tower hotel. The remainder
of the day is free to rest and get acclimated. If you’d like to stretch your
legs, the hotel is located next to the Tower of London and the famous Tower Bridge. On the doorstep is St Katherine’s dock with
many shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
There are more just a short stroll across Tower Bridge in Butler’s Wharf. This evening walk to a restaurant nearby for a
welcome dinner.

Day
3:
Tuesday, June 20 – In London
Today’s activities start in Greenwich where Queen
Elizabeth I was born. The Palace no
longer exists, but on our walking tour we will visit the spot. We will also take in the Naval Museum, the
Cutty Sark, the celebrated historic sailing ship
and fastest of its time, and the market. After lunch (not included) take the
river boat up river to the Tower of London where Elizabeth I was held prisoner
for a time for a tour, then finish the day in Westminster Abbey where she and
numerous royals and other famous people are buried.

Day 4: Wednesday, June 21 – London
Morning visit to Windsor Castle, the home
of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. It was official residence
of Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabeth
I was quarantined here with the plague and undertook considerable renovations. We’ll also visit St. George’s Chapel
of The Order of the Garter. Every knight is required to display a banner of his
arms in the Chapel, together with a helmet, crest and sword and an enameled
stall plate. These 'achievements' are taken down on the knight's death
Then to Hampton Court Palace and Gardens for a tour of Henry VIII’s majestic palace and gardens.
Elizabeth I often resided here and she was held under house arrest for some
time
On the return, we will visit the site of Richmond Palace where Elizabeth
I died. This stop provides a fun photo opportunity at
the pub featured in the popular Series, Ted Lasso.

Day
5: Thursday, June 22 – London
Morning
visit to the National Portrait gallery to see some of the portraits of Queen
Elizabeth I. Then to Charterhouse, the home to many significant
moments in London's history since 1371. Then visits to the Museum of the Order of St
John, an ancient religious military Order and
finish with the Middle Temple Halls and church.
Then some free time before transferring to St Paul’s cathedral for
evensong. Then we’ll walk across the
bridge to the Globe Theatre for dinner at the Globe Theatre restaurant before
taking in a Shakespeare play, then transfer to the hotel.

Day
6: Friday, June 23 – To Cambridge
Depart
London to the first stop at Hatfield House where Elizabeth spent much of her
youth and where she was informed, she
was Queen and where she held her first meeting of The Privy Council. This tour includes many famed art
features. Then visit to Ingatestone
Hall, a wonderful Tudor building still in the ownership of the same family that
built it in the 16th century.
It was the home of Sir William Petre, a member of Elizabeth’s Privy
Council and a leading Catholic.

7: Saturday, June 24 – To Stratford
Morning visits in Cambridge,
including the magnificent King’s College Chapel, Queen’s College, a stroll
along the Backs, and Great St Mary’s church where in 1564, Elizabeth I was
treated to plays and debates by university students. While en-route to Stratford upon Avon, we’ll
make a stop at Lyveden New Bield, the country house of Sir Thomas Tresham. Because this house was not finished, it
provides us with a unique glimpse at original architecture of the period. This evening we will take dinner in the hotel
before attending a show by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Day 8: Sunday, June 25 – To Oxford
Morning walking tour in Stratford
including entrances to Shakespeare’s Birthplace Museum, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage
and visits to Holy Trinity Church and the burial site of Shakespeare. Leaving
Stratford upon Avon, we visit Broughton Castle with a private guided tour. It was the family home of the 21st
Lord and Lady Saye and Sele. It includes a grand Elizabethan Hall. Later we transfer to Oxford by way of the scenic
route, stopping to take pictures in the postcard-worthy Cotswolds’ villages.

Day 9: Monday, June 26 – In Oxford
This morning we’ll start with a morning
walking tour, with visits to Christ Church College and the Bodleian Library. In
the afternoon, a visit to Jesus College, Oxford’s only Elizabethan
college. The tour includes a chance to
take a close look the Elizabethan charters of the College, with their beautiful
portraits of Elizabeth I, and a visit to the Seventeenth Century Fellows’
Library, with the original books still in place. It will conclude in the College Hall, where
Dr. Jones will give a talk about the history of Jesus College, beneath the
great portrait of Elizabeth I which hangs over the high table. This evening we’ll have a farewell dinner.

10: Tuesday, June 27 –
Return to U.S.
This
morning, we transfer to London Heathrow Airport for return flights.
